Looking to strengthen their midfield in the winter transfer window, Liverpool have placed Lamine Camara on their two-man shortlist. It remains to be seen whether AS Monaco will let their Senegal international, who has made a strong start to the season, leave.

Senegal international Lamine Camara (AS Monaco) and Alex Scott (Bournemouth) have emerged as the main targets, while Felix Nmecha (Borussia Dortmund) currently sits lower down Liverpool’s list. However, the cost of each potential deal could prove decisive as Liverpool look to bolster their midfield. Liverpool have identified Camara and Scott as priority targets for the central midfield role, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg. On X, the German revealed that Liverpool are keeping a close eye on both players, while adding that Nmecha is not considered a priority for now, although he is highly rated by the club.

Camara has impressed at Monaco with his energy, defensive work and ability to carry the ball forward, making the Senegal international an attractive option for Liverpool. Scott, for his part, continues to progress at Bournemouth and brings Premier League experience, as well as technical quality and versatility. The England international could be particularly attractive thanks to his familiarity with the demands of English football. According to the latest reports, Bournemouth are said to be ready to consider selling Scott for around €119 million, which would require Liverpool to make a considerable financial commitment to secure his services. Nmecha remains an alternative, but Plettenberg’s update indicates that the German is not currently at the top of the agenda for Liverpool, who are weighing up their next midfield signing.
